TABLE TOP LOG CABIN Carol Lipp is an expert life-long quilter and an awesome fun instructor. You will learn and be able to create the "Table Top Log Cabin" in this 1 day workshop. "I've have been piecing and quilting for more than 30 years. Most all the women in my family were quilters at one time or another, grandmothers, great grands, Mom along with six aunts and many cousins of my generation. I love “gifting” quilts! Whether you are a Novice or an Expert, we will have fun with this "go-to" pattern for many quilters: It is a basic log cabin pattern. This pattern is traditionally made from strips and/or scraps and it will appear when it is finished that one half is light and the other is dark, depending on your fabric selections. Villa Serena has two cutting mats to share as well as a couple of rulers and six sewing machines on site. You may reserve a machine on first come, first promised basis. After booking the workshop, you may send your request to reserve a machine to villaserenaclasses@gmail.com . Prior to the workshop you will decide which colors you wish to work with. The finished project will be approximately 18” square. It can be made larger if you choose to add borders. Or you can make smaller blocks and try different layouts with them as a runner or square as shown in the photos below. If you have questions about your fabric selections, please call Carol at 941-705-1043. Fabric quantities, fabric preparation instructions, color guidance, and more details will be provided in an email that you will receive after you have booked the workshop -- we don't have enough room here on the booking site to provide every detail. But in summary, here's what you'll need when you arrive for the class: 1. Your fabric! One way to think about your selections of colors is to select several light & several dark, or complimentary colors. We are looking for CONTRAST. 2. Cutting Mat, preferably at least 18” x 24”, or smaller if you have one. 3. 6” x 24” Quilting Ruler 4. Portable Pressing Mat with small iron, if possible (There will be one there to use.) 5. Class cancellations for a full refund may be requested up to 5 days prior to the scheduled day of your selected class. You may reschedule to a different class until 24 hours prior to the class you are canceling.
