Lynn Ferris is a prominent watercolor artist and a sought-after instructor. She teaches to sold-out workshops across the United States and we are proud to welcome her to our Studio. Lynn is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Her work is the subject of feature articles in both “Watercolor” magazine and “The Art of Watercolour”, and can be seen in the prestigious “Splash” series of books published by North Light. Her many awards include “The Artist’s Magazine” All-Media competition, and “Best of Show” in both the Florida Watercolor and Tallahassee Watercolor Society Annual exhibits. ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP This two-day workshop will focus on capturing the luminous, sparkling, magical sunlight in the garden. A sunlit garden never fails to elevate our spirit. It brings joy and peace to us as artists as we relax and contemplate the subtle interplay of color, light and shadow. On day one, we will focus close up, capturing the feeling of light, shadow, layers, color and negative space to create strong design and depth without losing the translucent airy feel so important in florals. On day two, Lynn will expand these concepts and bring you into a garden setting where you will be designing with sunlight for drama, warmth, and visual impact. This workshop is suitable for all levels with watercolor experience. A detailed supply list will be sent to you in advance of the workshop. Lynn provides handouts, reference materials, tracings (for those who choose to use them), and lots of personal attention in her workshop. No advanced preparation is needed. The Carriage House Studio provides beverages, bottled water, and snack bars, but you will need to bring a a sack lunch for the noon break.
