This is a virtual ZOOM Workshop that can be taken from the comfort of your home. We will be introducing one of my dark backgrounds using the colors that are in the painting. I will ask you when doing your drawing to please take the 2 dark shapes in the tablecloth and repeat them on the opposite side of the silver container. It's totally your choice about where your wish to place them. Silver needs to shine so we will be adding sparkle. See below for more information on this. Please come with your drawing done ahead of the class on the paper and size of your choice. I will be working on 300lb and approximately 1/4 sheet size. Don't forget to print out a black and white copy of the photo for your values. We won't finish the entire painting in this class but you will leave with all the techniques, tips, and next steps that you'll need to finish on your own. And of course I am always available by email to respond to assist. Please have all your paints and brushes handy. Along with a scrubber brush for lifting. I love an angle FLAT for putting in a dark background. There will be masking, so a masking guide will be sent to you ahead of the class. Don't mask your drawing earlier than 24 to 48 hours prior to the workshop so that the masking fluid will lift off easily. I am going to suggest adding some sparkles to the body of the silver. You will have that information along with the guide ahead of the class. The essential pigments for this class are as follows: Verditer Blue Brown Madder Mineral Violet Manganese Burnt Sienna Quin Gold Naples Yellow Holbein please. Quin Red by Sennelier please. Quin Sienna Scarlet Lake Sap Green Auerolian or any cool yellow. Permanent Rose Red Brown Transparent Orange Indigo In the information that you'll receive prior to the workshop, you will also receive my "Master Supply List" which itemizes pretty much all of the tools and pigments in my watercolor toolkit. You don't need everything on the Master Supply List for this workshop — I created the master list as a reference for those who love working in watercolor and are compelled to achieve a greater level of virtuosity and joy from this most rewarding medium. After the workshop you will receive a link to a full recording of the workshop. The recording is available online for 30 days.
