This is virtual ZOOM Workshop that can be taken from the comfort of your home. This may strike you as a complicated and challenging subject, but we're going to simplify it! The results you achieve using the techniques you'll learn in this workshop will surprise and delight you. I'll be painting from dark to light in the glass, using reflected colors in the glass and the background. I will introduce what I call my “ugly colors” — those are my neutrals! Please come to class with the image already drawn on the paper and size of your choice. I will be working on 300lb paper approximately 1/4 sheet in size. Be sure to make a black and white copy of the image for your values. You'll want to have all your paints and brushes handy, including rounds and flats and a scrubber brush for lifting. We will not finish this painting in the workshop, but at the end of the day you will have learned all of the techniques and steps that you'll need to finish your own painting. There will be masking guide which will be sent to you prior of the class. Be sure not to mask your drawing until 24 to 48 hours before the workshop so that the masking fluid can be easily lifted The essential pigments for this class are as follows: Verditer Blue Mineral Violet Brown Madder Burnt Sienna Scarlet Lake Permanent Rose Quin Magenta Gamboge Cobalt Blue Helio Cerulian Red Brown Quin Sienna Sap Green Green Gold or Greenish Yellow Aeroline Naples yellow Indigo In the packet that you'll receive prior to the workshop, you will also receive my "Master Supply List" which itemizes pretty much all of the tools and pigments in my watercolor toolkit. You don't need everything on the Master Supply List for this workshop — I created the master list as a reference for those who love working in watercolor and are compelled to achieve a greater level of virtuosity and joy from this most rewarding medium. This workshop is 4 hours long, from 10am to 2pm Eastern Time, with a 15 minute break for lunch at noon. After the workshop you will receive a link to a full recording of the workshop.
